H.R. 909 passed the House by voice vote on January 12, 2026. Received in the Senate and referred to the Committee on the Judiciary.
The Crime Victims Fund Stabilization Act of 2025 would transfer residual funds collected through the False Claims Act (FCA), which are currently directed to the General Fund of the U.S. Treasury, to the Crime Victims Fund (CVF). The CVF provides non-taxpayer funding to thousands of victim assistance programs throughout the United States. In recent years, the deposits into the CVF have declined, resulting in cuts to the annual release of funds available for essential services and support for survivors.
This bill would ensure that vital victim services remain uninterrupted, including in Indian Country, by temporarily adding additional funding to the CVF.
The Senate Committee on Indian Affairs will hold a legislative hearing titled “Justice and Safety for Native Children: Examining Title II of the Draft Native Children’s Commission Implementation Act” on January 28 at 2:30 p.m. The hearing will focus on Title II of the Native Children’s Commission Implementation Act discussion draft released by Senator Murkowski on August 1, 2025. Title II, which focuses on justice for children, youth, and families, contains Senator Murkowski’s Family Violence Prevention and Services Act (FVPSA) provisions for Indian Country.
