Now Accepting Art Submissions for the 2025 Women Are Sacred Conference!
The National Indigenous Women’s Resource Center (NIWRC) is excited to announce a Call for Artists to submit original pieces that bring to life the theme of this year’s 2025 Women Are Sacred Conference:
"Committed to Our Relatives: Tradition in Our Hearts, Future in Our Hands"
This year’s conference will take place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, from July 29-31, 2025. Selected artwork may be featured on, but is not limited to, the front and back cover of the conference program, conference merchandise, marketing materials, social media posts, webpages, and email campaigns. Your work will be at the heart of one of the most impactful gatherings in the movement to end violence against Native women and communities.
Submission Deadline: March 31, 2025 Artist Selection and Notification: April 15, 2025
No restrictions on genre, subject matter, or media.
Artwork should align with the conference theme and description.
Open to artists of all ages (parent/guardian permission required for artists under 18).
Artwork must be suitable for print (posters, promotional graphics, conference programs, etc.).
We ask that Sacred pipes not be depicted and encourage artwork that represents the diversity of all Tribal Nations.
Compensation
$1,500 for the selected artwork.
One conference pass to attend all sessions.
One optional vendor booth for the duration of the conference.
Requirements
Artists must submit information and artwork using the Submission Form.
You may submit up to five pieces of artwork for consideration.
Each submission must include a description of the artwork, detailing inspiration, medium, and creation process.
All artwork must be high-resolution (300 DPI, .jpeg or .png recommended). If applicable, please include a layered version (.ai, .psd, .indd).

Every two years, NIWRC proudly hosts the Women Are Sacred (WAS) Conference, one of the largest gatherings of advocates, survivors, Tribal domestic and sexual violence programs, Tribal community members, Tribal leadership, law enforcement, and Tribal court personnel dedicated to ending violence against Native women and communities.
